The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has reconstituted the Governing Council for the Plateau State University, Bokkos, with the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, as chairman.
The governor also reinstated the sacked Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Danjuma Sheni.
In a statement by the Director of Press Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel Nanle, the governor named other members of the council, whose appointment, he added took effect from August, 14, 2015.
Other members of the Council are Chief Samuel G. Mafuyai (Central Zone), Prof. Rahila Gowon (Central Zone), Chief James Barry (Northern Zone), Chief Musa G. Izam (Northern Zone), Prof. Seddi Sebastine Maimako (Southern Zone), Mr. Zingfa D. Galam (Southern Zone), National Universities Commission (representative), and PLASU Registrar/Secretary to Council.
Other agencies to be represented on the council are Ministries, Agencies and Organisation are as provided for in the extant law establishing the university.
In the same vein, the Lalong has reaffirmed the appointment of the pioneer and current chancellor of the University, the Soun of Ogbomosho Land, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Ajegundade III.
