Liverpool are closing in on a £15 million deal for Real Madrid Midfielder Asier Illarramendi this summer,according to a report by the Daily Telegraph.
Illarramendi joined Real Madrid from Real Sociedad in 2013 but has struggled to make an impact at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 25-year-olf has struggled to hold down a regular first-team spot, falling behind the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the pecking order.
According to the report, Madrid are keen to offload the player this summer.
Illarramendi will hope a move to Anfield will reinvigorate his career, while the Reds look to strengthen their squad in a bid to get back into the Top four after a poor campaign last season.
