3 Kidnappers Killed & 3-Yr Old Girl Rescued As Police Engage In Shoot-out With Kidnappers In Anambra

POLICE have killed three kidnappers in a shoot-out in Anambra State last week. Anambra’s Commission­er of Police, Hosea Karma has however, vowed to smoke out all criminals from their hideouts in the state.

Anambra State Police Spokesman, DSP Okechuk­wu Ali made the disclosure during the weekend while briefing reporters at the state SARS headquarters in Awkuzu.


He disclosed that a wom­an and her teenage daughter were arrested for allegedly keeping in their custody, a three-year old daughter of one Pastor Nwele who was kidnapped by a four-man gang and were negotiating a ransom payment before their arrest.

While displaying the corpse of the three kidnap kingpins with some arms and ammunitions recovered from various robbery and kidnap gangs, Okechukwu gave the name of one of dead three-man gang as Chukwuemeka Ilo, while two others were yet to be identified.

He also paraded two other members of a kidnap gang who were arrested by the police while negotiating for a ransom of some workers of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome who they kidnapped in far away Lagos State and came down to Anambra state to negotiate for their ransom, adding that one Chukwue­buka Ohams from Owerri, Imo State was arrested for threatening to kidnap one Dr. Nwokolo if he fails to surrender the documents of his landed property to them.

Meanwhile, more than 3,000 villagers residing at home and abroad converged during the weekend at the home of Onyishi Eze nwa Idoko, the oldest man in Amaja community, Enugu- Ezike , Igbo- Eze North lo­cal government area, Enugu state over the gruesome murder of Marcel and Ja­cinta Aba Ossai .

The couple was mur­dered in their sleep and their throats slit with a sharp knife like goats last Monday by yet to be identified killers.

Angry villagers compris­ing women, old men and youths during their delibera­tion over the heinous crime described the killing as “one too many that cannot be wished away just like that.”

The general assembly convoked at the instance of the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Ignatius Atlas Idoko vowed to get to the root of the matter by engaging all the relevant security agencies to fish out the killers and ensure that the perpetrators will not go unpunished.
