Presidency reacts to US-based Nigerian professor's claim that Buhari spent £6 million for ear treatment

Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba, has reacted to a post by US Associate Professor of Journalism, Farooq Kperogi, where he criticized President Buhari for allegedly spending £6 million to treat his ear at a UK hospital in June.

Basing his post on a report by Vanguard, Kperogi said President Buhari spent 6 million pounds which is about N3 billion to treat an ear infection when according to him all Nigerian teaching hospitals combined were allocated less than 3 billion naira in the budget and when he budgeted up to 4 billion naira for Aso Rock Clinic that he doesn't even use and afterwards banned all government officials from traveling abroad for medical treatment.

Reacting to the report, Shehu Garba stated that the ear treatment of President Buhari did not take up to £50,000 which is about N20.5m. See what the Professor wrote and Shehu Garba's reaction after the cut.
