Liverpool agree record breaking £74.5m fee with RB Leipzig for Naby Keita - report

Liverpool Transfer News RB Leipzig Naby Keita
LIVERPOOL have agreed a deal to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, according to reports.

Liverpool look in good shape ahead of the new season after beating Leicester to win the Premier League Asia Trophy in Hong Kong.

Mohamed Salah, who signed from Roma for a club-record £38million fee last month, got on the scoresheet as the Reds beat the Foxes 2-1.

However, despite new arrivals such as Salah and Dominic Solanke settling in well, Jurgen Klopp is targeting more reinforcements.

RB Leipzig star Keita is their No1 target with Klopp seeking more legs in the middle of the park as they aim to win the Premier League title for the first time.

Express Sport understands Liverpool are willing to spend big to convince Leipzig into selling their star asset.

And Winner Sports say they have agreed a deal worth a HUGE £74.5million.

It is said the majority of the fee will be paid up front - a contrast to previous claims that the Reds were only willing to part with £40m immediately.

A source supposedly said: "It was in the best interest of all parties to accept this offer."

While a deal has been agreed, Winner Sports claim that confirmation will come once the finer details have been ironed over.

These include payment structure, which will be approved by Leipzig director Ralf Rangnick and co-owner Dietrich Mateschitz.

Keita only signed for Leipzig from sister club Red Bull Salzburg 12 months ago for a cool £12.75m.

The midfielder scored eight goals as the Bundesliga side finished second in the league table.
