Gunmen killed four security personnel in an armed attack in Saqqara, 22 miles south of Cairo, three security sources told Reuters on Saturday.
One security source said the two attackers were riding a motor bike when they opened fire using machine guns at a checkpoint in Saqqara, a Cairo suburb and site of some of Egypt’s oldest pyramids.
Egypt is fighting Islamist militants that had killed several security personnel in the North African nation since former president Mohammed Mursi was toppled by military last year.
