Paris Saint-Germain Coach Laurent Blanc has revealed that the transfer saga surrounding Manchester United winger Angel di Maria is almost complete.
Di Maris did not join his United team-mates on their pre-season tour in America as planned at the weekend, and the two clubs are still negotiating a fee.
Meanwhile,it is understood the french Champions only offered an initial 40 million euros (£28.5m) for Di Maria ‒ a price which would represent a heavy loss for United, given they paid £59.7m a year before.
PSG Coach Laurent Blanc, however, is confident the deal will go through.
"In the Di Maria case, the whole thing is close to being over,' the PSG manager reportedly said. 'I'm rather positive about it."
The Red devils are happy to allow the Argentine to leave, given his unhappiness and problems suffered in Manchester during his debut season in the Premier League.
The former Real Madrid player is looking for a £9m-per-year salary, or about £170,000 per week.
PSG's owner Nasser Al Khelaifi and sports director Olivier Letang are understood to be in London for discussions over the fee with United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Manchester United Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward wants to recoup as much of the British transfer record fee they paid for Di Maria in August 2014, and United still set their eye on Barcelona's Pedro as a replacement.
