The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has back-off on its new policy adopted on July 14 to redistribute candidates to universities.
JAMB’s Public Relation Officer, Mr. Benjamin Fabian who disclosed this to Vanguard Tuesday in a telephone conversations said: ”Candidates should go and write the post-UTME in their institutions of first choices.”
He, however noted that after the post-UTME in their universities of first choice, if necessary, JAMB is still going to redistribute them.
He said: “When they write the post-UTME in the schools of their first choices, they may wish to consider the other places we have taken them to for admissions.
”The reason is that if they don’t get admission in their first choices institution, they will get in the second.”
He explained that JAMB’s effort in redistributing candidates was only geared towards helping candidates of over-subscribed institutions gain admission to other federal or state universities rather than wasting their scores.
You will recalled that JAMB had last week announced its new policy to redistributes candidates to universities other than their first choice.
The development which generated sharp criticism from stakeholders almost paralysed some of the most sought after universities in the country.
Ojerinde Dibu Most resign and be Investigated. JAMB Registrar Paid To Divert Candidates To Private Universities. Students are crying
ReplyDeleteOjerinde Dibu Most resign and be Investigated. JAMB Registrar Paid To Divert Candidates To Private Universities.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation board JAMB has deceived and defrauded candidates of the JAMB examination for several years.
The selling of "Change of Institutions and Courses" forms is a particularly questionable practice.
I call on ASUU, NANS EFCC and all human right activist to help intervene on this issues as most universities like Federal University of technology Owerri FUTO exams will be holding soon on 10th august 2015, while Jamb to publish names 3rd of august. To enable candidates not only FUTO aspirants, return to their choice institution to write their exams as this may render 80% aspiring youth to remain idle at home till next year.
Its obvious that JAMB are intentionally failing students all these years and are being fraudulent in their activities, They don't want students to be admitted, they always intentionally fail students and want them to come back to next year to re-write jamb, playing with the youths future.
* Back in the days during PPT, what they do is seize results to claim its malpractice, students where able to go to abuja to defend themselves, they saw its not favouring them.
* They scrap 2nd choice instead of introducing 3rd choice to enable candidates pick choice. and introduced CBT, to God be the glory, majority passed the CBT than to the PPT.
That was not enough
* Now they introduced their new policy without consulting with stake holders, posting students to the north and private school. Imagin poor families that can't even afford federal Uni let alone state. "Why send my daughter to Maiduguri where Shekau will probably be the Vice Chancellor, when she actually chose FUTO?" one parent complained..
This is deliberately the extermination of human race,.. Students are ok with the way it has been, you announced 180 on 14th July as general cut-off mark, you woke up in the morning, God knows what Dibu dreamt about and introduced his new policy. You also allowed student to purchase change of course form that cost up to N3000 do to the cut-off marks from their respective institutions. Since JAMB knew it would still randomly allocate the candidates to institutions by its own discretion, why then did it in the first place sell forms for them to change their choices, [only] to later allocate them at will to non-chosen institutions. This is vividly a pure fraud.
A leader of students who protested on Wednesday against the workings of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), which randomly allocates university applicants to separate institutions, has alleged that the program’s registrar, Professor Dibu Ojerinde, has an agreement with private universities to selectively divert candidates to them against the will of the applicants themselves. Are you going to sponsor them in the private universities or protect them from boko haram, if posted to the North?. A series of frauds have been going on in JAMB, and this is the right time to end it because I trust President Muhammadu Buhari to do justice to this, Infact jamb need to be abolished and let universities conduct their admission.
