They also called for for physical rehabilitation of the region which had said had been devastated by the effect of insurgency.
Rising from a meeting held at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge, yesterday in Abuja, Gombe state
Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo who addressed Journalists said that the North-east Regional Development Plan Committee liased with DFID to establish an institutional frame work for the region.
Dankwambo added that the forum has explored areas of cooperation with the international development partners with the six governors in attendance.
The governors had also received the report of the North-east Transformation strategy tagged “Development Agenda” which is a follow-up to the last year’s North-east economic Forum.
According to him, an approval to set up its secretariat in Bauchi state had been acquired just as the immediate office has been also cited at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
The governors also agreed to make their resolve known to President Mohammadu Buhari soon.
North eastern states included Gombe, Adamawa, Yobe, Borno, Bauchi and Taraba.
