See Photos Of The Moment Lewis Hamilton was Barred from Wimbledon's Royal Box for not Wearing Jacket & Tie

Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton was banned from the Royal Box at yesterday's Wimbledon final because he was not wearing a shirt and tie.

Hamilton was due to sit alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Anna Wintour to watch Novak Djokovic clinch his third Wimbledon title following a nail-biting final against Roger Federer. But the driver was sent away by officials after turning up in a rather colourful ensemble, which included a
bright floral shirt.

The 30-year-old, earlier in the day had posted a photo on Instagram showing his Royal Box invitation package, saying he was 'honoured' to have received it. He even wrote:
'On my way to Wimbledon to watch the final. Honoured to have been invited to watch the men's finals from the Royal Box.'

Only to arrive the event in the flashy outfit and camel-coloured suede shoes with a hat. He later posted a picture of himself on Instagram watching the men's final from a hospitality area inside centre court. A Wimbledon spokesman said:
'If he was not adequately dressed you could infer that he would not have been let in, but we do not comment on our guests. If he came without a jacket, tie or shoes he would have had two choices - not staying or going to get some extra stuff.'
Men who are invited to the exclusive box on Centre Court must wear a jacket, tie and shoes.
