Why Jonathan and PDP Should Apologise to Nigerians - APC

The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State has called on former President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party to apologise to Nigerians “for their 16 years of bad governance and misrule.”

The APC said the PDP lacked the justification to criticise President Muhammadu Buhari because the party was responsible for the country’s woes.

This was contained in a statement issued by the APC Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Adesanya , on Sunday.

The APC said rather than the PDP to be remorseful and apologetic, the party had been making defenseless arguments.

The statement read, “It would be honourable on the part of the PDP leadership and former President Goodluck Jonathan to sincerely apologise to Nigerians, both at home and abroad for their mismanagement, bad governance, misrule of the country, insecurity, among others.

“Jonathan and the PDP have led this country into domestic and international disrepute, serious economic crisis, insecurity, unemployment, unprecedented corruption at all levels, abuse of state apparatus , disobedience of court orders, religious crisis and poverty.

“Recently, the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed that the President Buhari government has been able to increase Nigeria’s foreign reserve from $29bn to $31.89bn in just one month.

“The Economic and Financial Crimes Comission that was dysfunctional, is now active and responsive, trying former governors and bureaucrats. Refineries that were down for years are now operational. Rather than condemn Buhari, he should be commended for his dogged approach at blocking all leakages and apprehending looters.”

Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the PDP in the last election in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, on Sunday, congratulated Muslims on the successful conclusion of the Ramadan fast.

Agbaje, in a statement by his Director of Media and Publicity, Felix Oboagwina, asked Muslims to continue to work and pray for peace to reign in Nigeria.
