A 45-year-old businesswoman, Rabi Shado, and two others, were, yesterday, arraigned before an Igbosere magistrate’s court for alleged kidnap.
The other defendants are Edwin Ubba, 43, businessman, and John Agba, 47, a civil servant.
They were docked before Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful confinement, kidnap and stealing preferred against them by the police.
The prosecutor, Inspector Stephen Molo, told the court that the defendants and others, who are still at large, committed the alleged offences sometime in August 2008.
He said the incident took place at E4, Satellite Town, Ijegun area of the state.
Molo alleged that the trio unlawfully confined and detained one Jude Odionu against his will and also fraudulently obtained N300,000 from one Onyeka Odionu, under the pretence of treating Jude Odionu’s mental illness.
Magistrate Komolafe granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum; the sureties must show two years tax payment and verified addresses.
The matter was adjourned till November 17.
