The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has given out six cars, 40 tricycles and 100 grinding machines to the poor.
Oritsejafor made the presentations at an event, which took place on Saturday in Warri, Delta State, thereby putting smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries. He gave away the items in collaboration with Eagle Flight Microfinance Bank.
Speaking while handing over the items to the beneficiaries, the CAN president said the growth of the microfinance bank was as a result of the legal framework, organisational and governance structure.
Oritsejafor added that the microfinance bank had become more effective in actualising its vision and mission statement as a result of its managerial skills.
“We appreciate God for ensuring the items were provided for the deserving persons; we will not fail to acknowledge God who has been too good to fail, and that is the reason why we say we are too big to fail.
“At its inception, the bank, which started as a branch with about 10 employees and four departments have grown to have 112 employees, nine departments, a corporate head office, four branches and seven cash centres.”
The CAN president further observed that the increase in the productivity level of the poor would always provide an avenue for the administration of the micro-credit programmes.
He said the micro-finance bank had empowered micro-credit groups with N2.5bn while small and medium scale enterprises had been supported to the tune of N10.5bn.
Oritsejafor also stated that corporate bodies had also been assisted with a cash value of N15.5bn, saying that the financial base of the micro-finance bank had risen to over N27bn.
One of the persons, who won a car from a raffle draw, Michael Ugboma Blessing, said, “We are very happy for the kind gesture of Papa Ayo Oritsejafor to the poor.
“We ask God to increase his blessings because he is a true man of God. He has touched the lives of many persons and God will bless him.”
