3 Boko Haram Members Arrested By Adamawa Hunters

A group of hunters in Gulak village of Madagali Local Government Area in Adamawa State arrested three members of the Boko Haram sect on Tuesday.

A member, representing Madagali State Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Mr. Emmanuel Tsamdu, confirmed the arrest of the three insurgents to journalists on the telephone.

He said the arrest was made after a reprisal launched by the hunters against the insurgents, who had earlier killed five people in Kulbagawa village of Madagali LGA.

Tsamdu explained that the training of about 200 hunters in the area aided the hunters in arresting the terrorists.

The lawmaker added, “The effort made by our youths on Tuesday is commendable as report reaching us says that they have arrested three members of Boko Haram in Gulak. The local hunters in Madagali are joining forces with those from Gombi areas to chase them (Boko Haram) out of our territory.

“The locals from Gombi seem to know the terrain and the hideout of these wicked people. Their coming will eventually boost the morale of those youths from Madagali and other areas to fight against the insurgents.”
