The fee has not been disclosed but it is understood to be in the region of £45million.
Di Maria only joined United last summer, with the Premier League side paying a British record £60million to secure his signature from Real Madrid.
He made an encouraging start to his Old Trafford career but his former dipped drastically and he was left unsettled after an attempted burglary on his Cheshire home in February.
However,Di Maria revealed recently aimn June that he wanted to stay at United, but it became apparent that he had his heart set on a move to the French capital in the last couple of weeks.
The Argentine International was due to report for duty during the second leg of United's pre-season tour of the United States on July 25, but failed to show.
He was duly given permission to hold talks with PSG over a move to the French captial and underwent a medical in Qatar on Tuesday.
Now the 27-year-old has sealed his switch after the two clubs agreed a fee, signing a four-year contract with Laurent Blanc's side.
