Reps to probe CCT chairman over corruption allegations

Reps may probe CCT chair over corruption allegations
House of Reps

The House of Representatives may soon commence a probe into allegations of corruption leveled against chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Danladi Umar.
This followed a petition by the Anti-Corruption Network (ACN) tabled on the floor of the House yesterday by Rep Rima Shawulu (PDP, Taraba).
Daily Trust reports that the Network has Senator Dino Melaye as one of its founders.
Presenting the petition, Shawulu said the CCT chairman and one other were accused of corruption some years back by the Attorney-General of Federation. While the other person was prosecuted, Umar was not prosecuted for some unknown reasons, Shawulu said.
