Activists disagree with Dickson and says LGA workers, and pensioners are being owed in Bayelsa

Seriake Dickson
A group of activists has disagreed with the claim by Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa that the state does not owe public workers in the state.

Bayelsa Workers Unity Forum said local government workers and pensioners are being owed more than five months salaries

“The LGA workforce constitutes over 75% of workers in the state and therefore wonders why a governor of a state will be claiming he does not owe salaries when over 75% of the workforce has not been paid.

All the staffs even in his government house have not also been paid, so who are the people governor Dickson keeps saying he is paying?

Are they ghosts? Bayelsa is a very small state and as such the workers in the ministries in Yenagoa are very few but the bulk of our state’s workforce are in the LGAs and the governor has not paid us,” noted the group in a statement signed by its president, Kemepador Isaac and Secretary, Timiprey Pereowie.

Governor Dickson during an interview on a national TV, maintained that the state is not owing its workforce.
