THE Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, Warri Zone, Delta State, yesterday, said that its members will from today join the ongoing strike by members in Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, over unfair labour practices, especially casualisation of workers.
NUPENG members working for CNL in Lagos and Rivers states have been on strike for a while over alleged unfair labour practices, including de-unionisation and casualisation of workers.
A statement by Mr. Otite Onohwohwo, Senior Assistant General Secretary of NUPENG, in-charge of the zone, said:
“The zone is also in dispute with CNL over de-unionisation and illegal categorisation of our members, Warriland logistics staff works rotation issues and retirement issues.”
