Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has confirmed that the club are attempting to sign Yohan Cabaye from Paris Saint-Germain.
Eagles manager Alan Pardew is believed to be keen to reunite with the former Newcastle United playmaker having managed him at former club St James' Park, and Cabaye refused to rule out a move to Selhurst Park in June.
Goal understands that Roma have contacted the Frenchman over a prospective summer transfer, but Parish has now revealed that Palace are hopeful of winning the race for his signature.
"That's definitely one we would like to do," he told TalkSport. "If we can, it will be massive for the club. He's a seasoned international. That's definitely one we're working on.
"For us to get into the top 10 in the Premier League, we have got make sure we are bringing in top 10 Premier League players."
Cabaye spent three years with the Magpies prior to his move to Ligue 1 and consistently impressed, with the Frenchman racking up over 90 appearances for the club, scoring 18 goals.
Following his move to PSG Cabaye has won two Ligue 1 titles, the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue.
