The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to instruct the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to monitor how the N2.1 billion bailout to Ekiti is applied by Governor Ayodele Fayose.

It also urged the Presidency to order the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah, to remove the men of the Nigeria Army attached to the convoy of   Governor to prevent misuse of security agencies.

In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun at the weekend, the party commended Buhari over bailout plan for states to settle the backlog of workers’ salaries, saying the measure would relieve Nigerian families from poverty and provide the energy needed for the challenge of returning the nation to the path of productivity for the general well-being of Nigerians.

The party also hailed the President for restoring confidence in the economy saying the feats achieved within a month of his administration signposted the building of hope for Nigeria to rise again.

Olatunbosun urged the President to keep a close watch on Ekiti State to prevent misapplication of the bailout funds for personal benefit just as the State government has rendered the Local Governments redundant through financial impunity.
