Stoke City are demanding a Chelsea player on loan for the 2015/16 season in addition to an £8m fee for goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, according to The Sun.The Bosnia-Herzegovina international looks set to join the champions this summer to replace Petr Cech as no.2 to Thibaut Courtois.
But the Potters are keen to secure the best deal possible for Begovic, aged 28, who is into the final 12 months of his contract at the Britannia Stadium.
The club’s hierarchy are reportedly insisting they get a Blues fringe player for next campaign.
Manager Mark Hughes wants his former club to throw in Victor Moses, Patrick Bamford or Ruben Loftus-Cheek to bring the prospective deal up to Stoke’s £10m valuation.
Moses spent last season on loan with the Potters, while striker Bamford finished the campaign as the Championship player of the year following a hugely successful stint at Middlesbrough.
Loftus-Cheek, aged 19, broke into the Chelsea midfield once Jose Mourinho’s side had wrapped up the Premier League title.
